Paralibrarian Certification Program

Paralibrarians keep libraries across Alabama running smoothly.  The most important aspect of the Alabama Library Association Certification Program is to help you do a better job.  It also shows your director and Board that you have the skills and knowledge to work as a paralibrarian.  Learn how you can earn ALLA certification for free.

Rob & Michelyn will discuss how they use the many free and inexpensive online resources available today to make library websites more attractive to patrons. Topics to be discussed are WordPress, Joomla, web graphics, Google Services, and much more.
 
Ways to Exercise and Relieve Stress at Work
Speaker: Russell Lee, Birmingham Public Library, Central
 
This presentation will teach participants how to get in some quick exercise using their work environment and how to relieve tension during those stressful moments at work. This session will be interactive and will also include a mini lecture. After completion of this session you will be able to gauge your level of physical exertion, check your pulse rate, and perform basic functional exercises and stretches. Participants should dress in clothing that will allow them to move comfortably. Participants will be asked to fill out a Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire at the beginning of the session.
